What is Mission Cheese?

Located in the heart of San Francisco's famed Mission District, Mission Cheese celebrates American artisanal cheese. Turophiles and laymen alike delight in American artisan cheese flights, housemade charcuteries, melty delicious grilled cheeses, small production California beer, wine, and more at this welcome addition to the Valencia Corridor.

The Action

Mission Cheese will apply for a new bike corral that would hold up to 12 bikes to encourage people to cycle. It’s a triple threat - great for creating community, improving public health, and reducing San Francisco carbon emissions. Plus, with sufficient funds, they’ll spend the Carrotmob money to reduce water usage by installing a new low-flush toilet and a water-saving motion sensor faucet in the bathroom. They need SFMTA’s approval to install a bike corral so if for some reason they don’t get approval, they’ll install new regular sidewalk bike parking instead.

Buying Vouchers

You can buy as many vouchers as you like - there are no restrictions. Your vouchers will never expire, so if you think you'll visit Mission Cheese multiple times, might as well stock up! You can spend them on anything that Mission Cheese sells. You will get a voucher which you can present on your mobile phone's web browser (by visiting http://carrotmob.org/me), or you can print it out and bring it with you. You need to use the entire $20 value in a single visit.

Mission Cheese is already a responsible business, sourcing only the finest ingredients from domestic artisan producers that they’ve built direct relationships with. Now, Mission Cheese wants to take it to the next level by installing bike parking out front and reducing water use. These improvements will enhance community, improve public health, fight climate change, and lessen San Francisco’s water stress.

If Mission Cheese had it their way, Freddie Mercury would have nothing to worry about.

What is Carrotmob?
In a Carrotmob campaign, a group of people offers to spend their money to support a business, and in return the business agrees to make an improvement that we care about. We are called Carrotmob because we use the "carrot" instead of the "stick." Traditionally, people who wanted to influence businesses would threaten or attack them. We believe people can have more influence on businesses by giving them a positive incentive to change: our money.
