Refund Policy

Effective Date: April 1, 2025

This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions under which MoneyVoice, PBC ("we," "us," or "our"), the parent company of Carrotmob, handles refunds for purchases made on the Carrotmob platform.

1. No Refunds After Commitments

By making a purchase through our platform, you acknowledge and agree that the funds you provide are used to make commitments to participating businesses as part of our campaign process. Therefore, we are unable to offer refunds unless all participating businesses decline to participate in the campaign.

  • If, 30 days after your purchase, all businesses have declined to meet the campaign's conditions, you will receive a refund of the line item of your payment which was for the gift cards themselves.
  • The payment processing fee, the non-member fee, and any sales tax associated with these fees are always non-refundable.

2. Failed Payments and Chargebacks

2.1 Definition of Failed Payment

A failed payment occurs when:

  • A credit card transaction is declined
  • An ACH transfer is returned
  • A payment is canceled by the payment processor
  • Bank-initiated reversals occur

2.2 Failed Payment Process

In the event of a failed payment:

  1. If the campaign is ongoing and we have not yet finalized the purchase of gift cards from the business:
    • The transaction will be canceled
    • No gift card will be purchased or issued
    • Any temporary authorizations will be released
  2. If we have already finalized the purchase of gift cards and sent the agreed amount to the business:
    • The customer will not receive the gift card(s) they attempted to purchase
    • The gift card may be used for promotional purposes, offered as a perk to members of the Hijack Capitalism community, or otherwise distributed at our discretion

2.3 Chargeback Process

If a customer initiates a chargeback:

  • We will provide all relevant transaction documentation to the payment processor
  • The same rules apply as with failed payments
  • Additional fees or restrictions may be applied to the customer's account

3. Business Bankruptcy or Closure

If a participating business declares bankruptcy or closes:

  • Before we have sent the funds to the business: You will receive a refund
  • After we have sent the funds to the business: The gift cards are subject to the bankruptcy proceedings or closure terms of the issuing business

4. Technical Issues

4.1 Gift Card Delivery Issues

If technical issues prevent gift card delivery:

  • We will attempt to resolve the issue within 5 business days
  • If we cannot deliver to your email address, please contact us at info@carrotmob.org to provide an alternative means of communication
  • If we cannot resolve the issue within 30 days, you will receive a refund

4.2 Gift Card Redemption Issues

For technical issues with gift card redemption:

  • Contact the issuing business's customer service department directly
  • We will assist in facilitating communication with the business if needed
  • We are not responsible for technical issues on the business's platform

5. International Transactions

For international purchases:

  • All refunds will be processed in the original currency of purchase
  • Any currency conversion fees or foreign transaction fees charged by your bank are not refundable
  • Processing times may vary based on international banking systems

6. Non-Member Fees

If you are not a member of the Hijack Capitalism community:

  • Your purchase may include a non-refundable fee
  • This fee will be clearly displayed at checkout
  • The fee remains non-refundable even if the cost of the gift cards is refunded

7. Refund Processing

When a refund is issued:

  • It will be processed to the original payment method
  • Processing time is typically 5-10 business days
  • You will receive an email confirmation when the refund is initiated

8. Multiple Purchase Orders

If you made multiple purchases in the same campaign:

  • Each purchase is treated as a separate transaction
  • Refund eligibility is determined separately for each transaction
  • The same refund rules apply to each individual purchase
