Carrotmob is a project of MoneyVoice, PBC ("we," "us," or "our"), a Delaware Public Benefit Corporation headquartered in California. Our platform facilitates the sale of gift cards while promoting socially responsible business practices. These Terms govern your use of our website and services.
2. Key Definitions
- Customer: A person who purchases a gift card through our platform.
- Member: A customer who is part of the Hijack Capitalism community (another project of MoneyVoice, PBC) and receives benefits such as waived fees.
- Participating Business: A business offering gift cards that may participate in our campaigns.
- Campaign: A limited-time initiative to incentivize businesses to take specific actions.
- Gift Card: A digital code redeemable for goods or services at a participating business.
3. Our Role
We act as an intermediary between customers and participating businesses. You understand and agree that:
- We do not directly issue gift cards but facilitate their purchase from participating businesses.
- The fulfillment of gift cards is contingent upon the outcome of the campaign.
- After you make a purchase, we use the funds to make commitments to participating businesses, and therefore we cannot offer refunds unless all businesses decline to participate.
- We are not responsible for the quality of goods or services provided by participating businesses.
4. Purchasing Gift Cards
4.1 Payment Process
- Payments are processed via Stripe.
- A payment processing fee will be added to cover the costs of payment processing and tax compliance. This fee is non-refundable.
- Non-members will be charged a fee for their purchase; members are exempt from this fee. This fee for non-members is non-refundable.
- By making a purchase, you warrant that you have the legal right to use any payment method(s) you provide.
4.2 Campaign Structure
- When you make a purchase, you will not yet know the ultimate issuer of the gift card. This will not be determined until after the conclusion of the campaign when we turn off the ability to purchase additional gift cards and subsequently conclude our negotiations with participating businesses.
- If, 30 days after your purchase, all businesses have declined to meet the campaign's conditions, your payment will be fully refunded.
- Campaign outcomes are determined solely at our discretion.
4.3 Gift Card Delivery
- Gift cards will be sent to the email address provided at the time of purchase. Customers cannot change the email address after the purchase is completed.
- You will receive your gift card via email within 30 days of your purchase.
- Gift cards are freely transferable and may be given as gifts or resold.
- Gift cards are subject to the terms and conditions of the issuing business, including restrictions on refunds and redemption.
4.4 Campaign Purpose
- By making a purchase, you are contributing not only to receiving a gift card but also to supporting a campaign aimed at achieving a desired outcome of changing the behavior of a business.
- The decision about which business the gift card ultimately comes from will be made solely by us. Customers do not have decision-making authority in this process.
5. Intellectual Property
- All content on our website, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is our property or the property of our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
- You may not use our intellectual property without our express written permission.
- Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide regarding our services may be used by us without restriction or compensation.
6. Communications
By using our services, you consent to receive electronic communications from us, including:
- Campaign updates and results
- Gift card delivery and redemption instructions
- Marketing communications (which you may opt out of)
- Legal notices and other important announcements
7. Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from any cause beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Acts of God
- Governmental actions
- Fire, flood, or other natural disasters
- Labor disputes
- System, network, or telecommunications failures
- Cyber attacks
- Pandemic or public health emergencies
8. International Use
- Our services are intended for global use, subject to applicable local laws and regulations.
- You agree to comply with all applicable export and import regulations.
- For disputes involving international transactions:
- These Terms shall be governed by California law
- The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods shall not apply
- You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in California
9. Limitation of Liability
We are not liable for:
- The practices or policies of participating businesses
- Delays or failures caused by third parties
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services
- Any damages exceeding the amount paid for the gift card(s) in question
10. Dispute Resolution
10.1 Mandatory Arbitration
- Any dispute arising from these Terms will be resolved through binding arbitration in California
- Arbitration will be conducted by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules
- The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding
- You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of accepting these Terms by emailing info@carrotmob.org
10.2 Class Action Waiver
- You waive your right to participate in class-action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration
- All claims must be brought in your individual capacity
10.3 Small Claims Exception
- Either party may bring claims in small claims court if they qualify
11. Modifications

- Changes will be effective immediately upon posting
- Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms
12. Severability

Welcome to Carrotmob! By using our services or purchasing from our website, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). Please read them carefully before proceeding.
1. Overview
Carrotmob is a project of MoneyVoice, PBC ("we," "us," or "our"), a Delaware Public Benefit Corporation headquartered in California. Our platform facilitates the sale of gift cards while promoting socially responsible business practices. These Terms govern your use of our website and services.
2. Key Definitions
- Customer: A person who purchases a gift card through our platform.
- Member: A customer who is part of the Hijack Capitalism community (another project of MoneyVoice, PBC) and receives benefits such as waived fees.
- Participating Business: A business offering gift cards that may participate in our campaigns.
- Campaign: A limited-time initiative to incentivize businesses to take specific actions.
- Gift Card: A digital code redeemable for goods or services at a participating business.
3. Our Role
We act as an intermediary between customers and participating businesses. You understand and agree that:
- We do not directly issue gift cards but facilitate their purchase from participating businesses.
- The fulfillment of gift cards is contingent upon the outcome of the campaign.
- After you make a purchase, we use the funds to make commitments to participating businesses, and therefore we cannot offer refunds unless all businesses decline to participate.
- We are not responsible for the quality of goods or services provided by participating businesses.
4. Purchasing Gift Cards
4.1 Payment Process
- Payments are processed via Stripe.
- Non-members will be charged a fee for their purchase; members are exempt from this fee. These fees for non-members are non-refundable.
- By making a purchase, you warrant that you have the legal right to use any payment method(s) you provide.
4.2 Campaign Structure
- When you make a purchase, you will not yet know the ultimate issuer of the gift card. This will not be determined until after the conclusion of the campaign when we turn off the ability to purchase additional gift cards and subsequently conclude our negotiations with participating businesses.
- If, 30 days after your purchase, all businesses have declined to meet the campaign's conditions, your payment will be fully refunded.
- Campaign outcomes are determined solely at our discretion.
4.3 Gift Card Delivery
- Gift cards will be sent to the email address provided at the time of purchase. Customers cannot change the email address after the purchase is completed.
- You will receive your gift card via email within 30 days of your purchase.
- Gift cards are freely transferable and may be given as gifts or resold.
- Gift cards are subject to the terms and conditions of the issuing business, including restrictions on refunds and redemption.
4.4 Campaign Purpose
- By making a purchase, you are contributing not only to receiving a gift card but also to supporting a campaign aimed at achieving a desired outcome of changing the behavior of a business.
- The decision about which business the gift card ultimately comes from will be made solely by us. Customers do not have decision-making authority in this process.
5. Intellectual Property
- All content on our website, including but not limited to text, graphics, logos, images, and software, is our property or the property of our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.
- You may not use our intellectual property without our express written permission.
- Any feedback, suggestions, or ideas you provide regarding our services may be used by us without restriction or compensation.
6. Communications
By using our services, you consent to receive electronic communications from us, including:
- Campaign updates and results
- Gift card delivery and redemption instructions
- Marketing communications (which you may opt out of)
- Legal notices and other important announcements
7. Force Majeure
We shall not be liable for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where such failure or delay results from any cause beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to:
- Acts of God
- Governmental actions
- Fire, flood, or other natural disasters
- Labor disputes
- System, network, or telecommunications failures
- Cyber attacks
- Pandemic or public health emergencies
8. International Use
- Our services are intended for global use, subject to applicable local laws and regulations.
- You agree to comply with all applicable export and import regulations.
- For disputes involving international transactions:
- These Terms shall be governed by California law
- The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods shall not apply
- You submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in California
9. Limitation of Liability
We are not liable for:
- The practices or policies of participating businesses
- Delays or failures caused by third parties
- Any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of our services
- Any damages exceeding the amount paid for the gift card(s) in question
10. Dispute Resolution
10.1 Mandatory Arbitration
- Any dispute arising from these Terms will be resolved through binding arbitration in California
- Arbitration will be conducted by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules
- The arbitrator's decision shall be final and binding
- You may opt out of this arbitration agreement within 30 days of accepting these Terms by emailing info@carrotmob.org
10.2 Class Action Waiver
- You waive your right to participate in class-action lawsuits or class-wide arbitration
- All claims must be brought in your individual capacity
10.3 Small Claims Exception
- Either party may bring claims in small claims court if they qualify
11. Modifications
- We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time
- Changes will be effective immediately upon posting
